The Southeast Kansas Humane Society of Crawford County Kansas began operation in 1973. The SEK Humane Society is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that rescues homeless and endangered pets in our area.
Its mission is to decrease animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment through promoting rescue, adoption, education, and population control.

The shelter is a no-kill facility usually at capacity with approximately 100 animals and we need your help. Please provide a safe home or donate your time or money to help provide care for these animals.
All shelter animals have been: spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, and given their round of shots
(rabies, DHPP, Bordetella),
The SEK Humane Society is currently not accepting any large and/or medium sized dog intakes. Due to limited kennel spacing, we only have room to intake small breed canines (Chihuahua/yorkie size).
Feline intakes are case by case depending on availabity.

We even offer foster-to-adopt trials with most of our animals. All of our adoptable dogs and cats are already spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. By adopting from our no-kill animal shelter, your helping save TWO LIVES. One for your new forever buddy and the second being the animal that takes in their empty space.

his handsome boy has such a sweet and gentle soul! He may come off a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a moment, and you’ll quickly discover an absolute love bug who just wants to be by your side.
He’s the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give and return it tenfold. Even better? Sett is a social butterfly with the best manners! He does wonderfully with kids, gets along great with other dogs, and even does well with cats.
Sett does have one little quirk, his tummy can be a bit sensitive (hey, IBS happens to the best of us!). He thrives on a special gastrointestinal diet, and to help set him up for success, his adopter will go home with some of his food to get started.
Sett has so much love to give and is ready to find a family who will cherish him for the amazing dog he is!
