We’ve been working hard behind the scenes assisting with the intake of a local puppy case. Sadly, one of these precious pups has started showing symptoms of parvovirus (PARVO) and has now tested positive.
Per the Kansas Department of Agriculture regulations, we are legally required to fully shut down our shelter facilities for a mandatory 2-week quarantine to prevent any potential spread.
We will be CLOSED to the public until July 25th.
This means we cannot intake animals, adopt out pets, or allow visitors.
We have also been alerted to other PARVO cases popping up here in Pittsburg and other nearby areas. We STRONGLY urge pet owners to get their own furbabies updated with their yearly vaccines and to stay away from dog parks for the time being.
